Engineering Technology and Management Research †MyAssignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about the Engineering Technology and Management Research. Answer: Introduction Operating system is the most important part of software. It is the base on which computer depends. It is also abbreviated as OS. It connects the hardware with the application so that the user is able to access the computer properly. In simple word it can be said that an OS is software which helps in running the programs of the computer and which helps in making use of the hardware (Bhardwaj, Chouhan, 2013). The main aim of an operating system is to improve the efficiency of the computer and make it convenient for people to use it properly. An operating system provides mechanism to the computer for process synchronization. It also keeps a track on the memory. Ubuntu is an African concept which means humanity towards others. Linux operating system is the version on which Ubuntu is based, Linux is also known as Debian GNU. Initially in 2009, Ubuntu developers noticed that is a scope of improvement. Therefore, they gradually developed it from simple interface security based system (2009) to center for monochrome elements like books and magazines (2012). The best part of this OS is that it is free and can be used by all. Other open source programs do not have any strict schedule for up gradation but Ubuntu upgrade its program in every six months (Perez, 2017). Ubuntu does not have graphical user interface but it can be installed on the will of the user. Yes it seems to be 4 point user friendly. As it is open software therefore it can be installed through CD or by downloading Ubuntu ISO file. This software easily works in handheld devices like pc, TV and cellphones. It includes line speed kernel networking. Yes Ubuntu can be connected with sof tware like android, IOS etc. this software also helps in using multimedia like MP3 player, webcam etc. Android Inc. was founded by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears and Chris White in 2003. Their main aim was to introduce software for handheld industry. 2005 was a turning year for this company when Google acquired Android Inc. (Kundu, Paul, 2010). The uniqueness of this software is that it can run multiple apps at a same time, also have 3D graphics like tapping, pinching, swiping etc. Yes android is 4. User friendly. Ice cream sandwich, jelly bean kitkat etc. all are 4. versions of android. This software comes preinstalled in cellphones and it is the best handheld software till date. It creates the easy accessibility in phones etc. Android can be connected through different networks but the user first need to ensure that their information stay safe while connecting. It can be connected with java, windows, python etc. One can easily access multimedia in android software. This OS is a current series of Unix-based graphical operating system which is developed to run only in Apples Macintosh computers. This is not open source software so a person needs to pay for installation of this software but it comes inbuilt in apple computers and laptops. Initially it was launched in 1999 as Mac OS X Server 1.0 and further in 2001 Mac OS X the latest series was launched (Apple, 2017). One of the best features of this is that it is aqua user interface with water like elements in it which is the best GUI. No this software is not 4 point user friendly (Dhotre, 2009). This software is mainly found in apple devices like iPhone, iPad etc. and multimedia as well i.e. iPod. This software is designed for 10. Speed and it cannot be connected with any other network except apple soft wares. IOS (iPhone operating system) is yet another software which belongs to the apple family like Mac OS X. it only runs in apple hardware like iPad, iPod, iPhone. It was originated in 2007 by Steve jobs which is closed source software. Its user interface is upon direct manipulation like swiping, tapping etc. No this software is not 4 point user friendly (Feist, 2016). This software is created for handheld device but only of apple hardware. No the IOS cannot be connected with android or any other software. This software comes inbuilt in all apple devices. As this software only works in apple products like iPod etc. therefore it cannot work in other multimedia devices (Joshi, tapaswi, 2005). Microsoft was introduced by Paul Allen and Bill Gates on April 4, 1975 for the basic purpose of selling interpreters for the Altair 8800. Further, Windows was announced by Microsoft on November 10, 1983 for MS-DOC as a graphical user interface and to compete with Macintosh operating system. Its initial versions (1.0 to 3.11) were programmed only for MS-DOC later it evolved as windows 95 based on 16 and 32-bit user space (Perez, 2017). It cannot be called an open source or closed because only Microsoft can change the codes but unlike MAC OS X it can be installed in a variety of computers. This software is most widely used in the market as per the net market share. Its latest version also includes touch through which user can play media on other devices as well and also provides accessibility when the user is away from their computers (Ritchie, 2003). Windows GUI is authentic, open and reflective. Yes windows is 4 point user friendly. This software comes preinstalled in latest hardware . All the Nokia phones contain windows software except which no other phones have it as an inbuilt feature. Yes windows can work properly in 8 point speed and it has connectivity with NTFS. Windows media players, web cam comes in built with this software but other users can also install it on their will. Conclusion All software has their different qualities depending upon the requirement of the users. But if all aspects are taken Mac OS X, time machine is best, windows is widely accessed in computers and there is no replacement of android in cellphones. Concluding, all software has their own features which might be resourceful to user depending upon their need. References Apple, (2017). MacBook Pro: a touch of genius.
